sound chatelaine made with parts from my broken radio
welded steel with the speaker and outer plastic from the radio i used to play with friends. the speaker was rewired to a headphone jack, and sandwiched between the plastic discs are nfc chips that link to sound files i’ve been collecting for a few years. i suppose they’re all fleeting moments that i wanted to have forever:
1) prayer that emits from a stuffed lamb I had as a child that i rediscovered in line at the grocery store
2) my nana jo talking about the jewelry she would pass down
3) an anonymous improvised sound performance i did with cassie when we tuned two radios (one being the one that broke) on a podium under a sheet
4) my late cat giving himself a nighttime bath with my bedroom window open
